Abstract Thisstudyisdevotedtogas-solidmasstransferbehaviorinheterogeneoustwo-phaseflow.Experiments
werecarriedoutinacoldcirculatingfluidizedbedof3.0minheightand72mmindiameterwithnaphthalene
particles.Axialandradialdistributionsofsublimatednaphthaleneconcentrationinairweremeasuredwithanon-
lineconcentrationmonitoringsystemHPGC-MS.Masstransfercoefficientswereobtainedundervariousoperating
conditions,showingthatheterogeneousflowstructurestronglyinfluencestheaxialandradialprofilesofmasstransfer
coefficients.Inthebottomdenseregion,masstransferrateishighduetointensivedynamicbehaviorandhigher
relativeslipvelocitybetweengasandclusters.Inthemiddletransitionregionandtheupperdiluteregion,asa
resultoflowmasstransferdrivingforceandtheinfluenceofflowstructure,masstransferratedistributionbecomes
non-uniform.Inconclusion,amongtheoperatingparametersinfluencingmasstransfercoefficients,thesuperficial
gasvelocityisthemostimportantfactorandthesolidcirculationrateshouldbealsotakenintoaccount.
