On logic and general education -- a discussion with Professor Wang Lu
Abstract: the debate caused by substitution theory is a pseudo argument between confusing logic, specialized education and general education. The goal of logical instruction is to improve the quality of logical thinking. Logical thinking quality is the ability of daily logical thinking with general comparability. Modern logic pays attention to the logic of logic, ordinary logic concerns daily thinking, and the two often have different treatment of the same kind of knowledge involved in everyday thinking, and the general logic is suitable for general education. The slogan of logic modernization is aimed at the education of logic specialty. Emphasizing the antagonism between modern logic and general logic is a special phenomenon in Chinese academic circles, which makes the development and reform of logic and general education always have to defend for general logic.
