Creating User Libraries
30 Running and configuring Adams
User Library Overview
User Library Overview
You can create user libraries and run them with your Adams products. There are two types of user
libraries:
• Adams Interface or Adams/View libraries - These libraries let you change the definition of your
model by adding compiled design-time functions for use in Adams/View expressions. You can
also change post-processing by adding or changing functions that determine how simulation
results are computed. You can use these functions in the same way you would use the built-in
design-time functions. For more information, see the Adams/View Function Builder online help.
• Adams/Solver libraries - These libraries let you add run-time functions for motion or force
magnitudes to directly define the behavior of your model and change the way the simulation is
performed. They let you take advantage of existing software to define complex modeling
relationships, such as hydraulic actuators or tire forces. For more information on writing user-
written subroutines, refer to the Adams/Solver online help.
