The A380s cockpits will be equipped with Barcos Onboard Information Terminal (OIT). The user-friendly and powerful OIT will bring enhanced efficiency and will allow for a truly paperless cockpit environment. With OIT, the A380s pilots will be able to access a multitude of information sources, such as system status information, weather data, maps, charts, manuals, checklists, etc. Barco was also selected to deliver the A380s Onboard Maintenance Terminals (OMT). The OMT is a DO-160 qualified laptop PC for the operational A380 cockpit environment. With the OMT, airframe operators can use all normal PC functions and access maintenance applications that supervise the aircraft’s avionics health status. Every A380 will also be equipped with Barcos powerful Terminal Processor Unit featuring an integrated dual Pentium? processor.
