College of Civil Engineering,Tongji University,Shanghai 200092,China)Abstract: Suitability analysis of internal thermal insulation of exterior wall was done from the aspect of thermal response speed and security. The results of experiment conducted under intermittent pattern of air-conditioning showed that compared with external thermal insulation of exterior wall,indoor temperature of internal thermal insulation mode has a higher thermal response speed and lower heat storage to achieve the indoor set temperature easier. Primarily presented as under cooling condition,indoor temperature decreased more rapidly. meanwhile, under heating condition,indoor temperature increased more rapidly. On the other hand,combined with the climate features of Shanghai and building types,internal thermal insulation mode can easily avoid construction materials falling from the surface of exterior wall.
