Department of Economics Management, China Institute of Industrial Relations, Beijing 100037) AbstractAt present, the workflow models based on Petri net are either too simple or too difficult to analyse structure and performance. And thus its application is not satisfying in practical use. In order to enhance the adaptability of the models, the paper solves resource-allocating problem and gets the same resource request and release process through constructing unified resource manager. Based on introducing colored Petri net, the paper gets colored WF-net, which is easy to control and computerize. Finally, the event-condition-action (ECA) rules are defined according to characters of workflow and a description mechanism of workflow model based on ECA notation is proposed.
