( JCL) oil comb ined w ith material flow analysis. The total dem and and o tp tm ethod which considers renewable reso rces, nonrenew ab le reso rces and p rchased reso rces is employed to establish an em ergy indicator fram ework and eval ate the ecoefficiency and s stainability of the process incl ding cropping, transportation, extraction, prod ction and w astew ater treatm ent. The res lts show that em ergy yield ratio (E YR ) is 1. 85, environmental load ratio (ELR ) is 6. 84, and the em ergy s stainab ility index (ESI ) is 0. 271. The res lts are also com pared w ith those of the biodieselm ade from soy oil and bioethanolm ade from wheat, indicating that the biodiesel prod ction process w ith JCL oil as raw m aterials is associated w ith higher yield, dependences on the environm ent, and s stainable leve,l which may be more s itable to be developed.
