Abstract: As a masterpiece by Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights vividly portrays Heathcliff’s immoral revenge for the suffering, injury and shame resulting from his low social status, the insult from Hindley, the betrayal of pure love and a money grubbing society. In the spirit of revenge, Heathcliff not only snatches estates from Hindley Earnshaw and Edgar Linton, marries with Isabella Linton, but also transfers his revenge to next generation by tormenting Hereton Earnshaw, forbidding Hereton Earnshaw to go school, degrading Hereton Earnshaw and neglecting the happiness of Linton Heathcliff and Catherine Linton. Such vindictive acts lead to great torment of his inner affection being, emptiness of affection, death of mental support, and death of human nature.
