So it has been widely applied in power generation and drive systems over a wide range of speeds. In this paper, the basic characteristics of HESM are discussed, and several kinds of the typical structure and operation principles of HESM are analyzed. A novel topology of HESM is proposed. The mathematic model of HESM is derived. Based on stage control, 0 the control system is established. Several control strategies are analyzed in both low and high speed regions.
