Treatment of Congenital Megacolon through Anus, Rectum and Colon in an Intussusception Style Yangzhou Women and Children’s Healthcare Hospital Ma Da Pediatric surgery [Abstract]: Aim: To explore a simple, efficient anal megacolon operation treatment. Method: Babies and infants with congenital megacolon of 36 cases are cured in an intussusception style in recent 4 years. The distal colon sigmoideum is pulled out from the rectum through the anus, and the rectum and colon are drawn out telescopically, full-thickness incision, mesocolon processing and excision of the pathological colon. There were 21 male, 15 female; age: 4 months ~ 5 years old, average age: 1.2 years old. Results: operation time: 50 ~ 70 minutes, average time: 60 minutes. Length of Stay (LOS): 13 ~ 15 days, an average of 14 days. All patients were followed up for 12 months: anastomosis without stenosis. Kelly score: excellent in 35 cases, average 1 case, poor in 0 cases. Complications: 1 cases of patient has blood in the stool, 4 cases complicated with postoperative colitis, all healed with conservative treatment. Conclusion: It is easy, simple and efficient to treat children with congenital megacolon through anus, rectum and colon in an intussusception style, plus, there’s less trauma and the LOS is short. This method suits children under 3 years old.
