It has two head　offices, one in Tokyo and the other one in Osaka. The number of employees is 3,358 in 2004. The Japan Research Institute, Limited is a knowledge engineering company, a company that offers comprehensive, highly value-added information services, through the coordinated application of its three functions, that is, information systems, consulting, and think-tank. CAE is not just a means to get over problems any longer. It has became a necessary design support tool for the product development and design to remain undefeated by competition between companies. As I mentioned before, a lot of Japanese manufacturers have been making forays into overseas markets, especially into Asian markets, such as Chinese and Taiwanese markets. They have relocated their factories and product design technology from Japan to Asian countries. The technology is not only Japanese one any more but also the one of Asian countries.
