Background:
Cyclonecombustorsarewidelyusedinindustrialprocessesfortheirefficientcombustionandseparationofsolidparticlesintheexhaustgas.However,thecomplicatedflowpatternandtheinteractionbetweengasandsolidparticlesmakeitdifficulttooptimizetheperformanceofthecyclonecombustors.Therefore,itisnecessarytoconductacomprehensivestudyontheflowcharacteristicsofdilutegas-solidtwo-phaseflowincyclonecombustors.
Objectives:
Themainobjectivesofthisstudyare:
1.Toestablishacomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD)modelofdilutegas-solidtwo-phaseflowincyclonecombustors.
2.Toinvestigatetheeffectsofinletparameters(velocity,temperature,andconcentration)andgeometricalparameters(diameter,height,andangle)ontheflowcharacteristicsofthegas-solidtwo-phaseflow.
3.TovalidatetheCFDmodelthroughexperimentsonalab-scalecyclonecombustor.
Methodology:
Thefollowingmethodologywillbeusedinthisstudy:
1.Literaturereviewtoassessthecurrentknowledgeandidentifytheknowledgegaps.
2.DevelopmentofaCFDmodelofdilutegas-solidtwo-phaseflowincyclonecombustorsusingANSYSFluentsoftware.
3.Numericalsimulationofgas-solidtwo-phaseflowincyclonecombustorsundervaryinginletandgeometricalparameters.
4.Experimentalinvestigationoftheflowcharacteristicsofdilutegas-solidtwo-phaseflowinalab-scalecyclonecombustor.
5.ValidationoftheCFDmodelusingexperimentaldata.
6.Analysisofthesimulationandexperimentaldatatoestablishcorrelationsbetweeninlet,geometricalparametersandflowcharacteristics.
