The results showed that sta dard silico dust a d crocidolit fibers cause DNA oxidative damage to form 8hydroxy2deoxygua osi e; but the effect i duced by crocidolit fibers is sro ger tha by sta dard silico dust. The catalytic ability of H O oxidizi g DNA by sta dard silico dust is sighifica tly 2 2 differe t from tha t by crocidolit fibers. Both possece direct ge otoxicity. To i duce DNA formi g stro gly mutage tic 8hydroxy2deox ygua osi e is o e of the possible mecha ism of their pote tial carci oge sis.
