China Electric Power Research Institute, Haidian District, Beijing 100192, China) ABSTRACT: Hot washing is one of the widely used measures 500 kV  preventing pollution flashover for its advantages of high washing efficiency, needlessness of power-off and low-cost. 0 110 and 220kV hot washing has launched while 500 kV hot   washing hasn’t conducted. 500kV transmission line hot washing test of single-string artificially polluted insulators was [1] progressed at b, c, d, e four contamination degrees.
