The coalbed methane development project is complicated system engineering, so must take the risk assessment. This paper chose a coalbed methane development project in Shanxi Province as an example, analyses the various factors which affecting coalbed methane risk. This paper established a risk evaluation system for the development of coalbed methane. The study combed analytic hierarchy process and expert scoring method to get the overall risk indexes of coalbed methane development project. By analysis of coalbed methane development risk, there is a reference for coalbed methane development risk evaluation. This paper hopes to help the further risk evaluation of coalbed methane development.
