Polycarboxylate superplasticizer has developed rapidly in recent years because of its superior performance and pollution-free production. Especially in Japan, the use ratio of polycarboxylate and naphthalene has exceeded 7:3. Polycarboxylic acid from the molecular structure, function principle and behavior in concrete and traditional water reducer has the very big difference, therefore, the correct understanding and rational use is an important link to promote the application of polycarboxylate superplasticizer. The author has accumulated three years experience in the production and application of LEX-9 series polycarboxylate superplasticizer, hoping to benefit the development of this new water reducing agent in our country.
Polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent
Polycarboxylic water reducing agent is a kind of surfactant with molecular structure as carboxyl graft copolymer. It has high and relatively lasting water reducing effect in concrete. In the domestic and foreign literature refer to dozens of kinds of surface active agent has the characteristics of molecular structure, including: maleic acid (ester), graft copolymer of acrylate graft copolymer, containing end sulfonic acid graft copolymer, unsaturated polyether copolymer etc.. All these copolymers form comb like or dendritic branched structures, the difference is the length, rigidity, morphology and polarity of the main chain and the branched chain.
Naphthalene water reducing agent is a typical ionic dispersant. Once it enters the cement water system, the adsorption layer (double layer) is formed immediately, thus increasing the electrostatic repulsion of the particle surface and achieving the dispersion effect. Polycarboxylic acid into th
