inChina,morethan80%isusedfordirectcombustion,andthecharacteristicsoflow
calorificvalueofcoal,highsulfurhighsulfurdioxideandnitrogenoxideemissionsin
ChinaSuchharmfulgasesasSO2andNOXproducedbycoalcombustioncaneasily
causeaseriesofatmosphericpollutionproblemssuchasacidrain,greenhouseeffect
andozonelayerdestruction,whichseriouslyaffectthelivingenvironmentofhuman
beings.Inrecentyears,ChinasSO2emissionshavecontinuedtodecline,butthetotal
emissionsstillexceed20milliontons,rankingfirstintheworldNOXsemissions
from2011starttocount,andNOscontributiontoatmosphericpollutioncannotbe

ignored.Ifitisnotcontrolled,itwillhaveamoreseriousimpactonChinas
atmosphericenvironment.
SO2pollutioncanbedividedintotwomaincategories:naturalsourcesand
humansources.Anthropogenicsourcesmainlyincludesulphidefuel(coal,oiland
naturalgas)combustionandsulfur-bearingsmeltingandproductionofsulphuricacid
industry,etc.InthevariousSO2emissionprocesses,theamountofSO2producedby
thecombustionprocessofthefuelis90%,whichisthebiggest.Sourceof
anthropogenicemissionsaccountedforabouttwo-thirdsoftheworldsatmospheric
emissions,andrelativelyconcentrated,intheaccountforlessthan1%ofthecities
andindustrialzonesoftheearthssurfaceab
