Regular and compulsory inspections of elevator to some extent reduce the risk of elevator, but the residual risk is still remained. This paper proposed an risk assessment method focusing on all the subjective and objective factors such as the design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, use, inspection elements. A risk assessment model is built and an example is given to illustrate the risk assessment procedure.
