中学英语课文整体教学模式 ? 英语教学大纲第一次指出：“课文首先应作为一个整体来教。开始时就分段教学，容易产生见树不见林的毛病，不利于学生掌握课文的中心思想和进行听、说、读、写的综合训练”。这是自试用大纲颁布以来各地英语教学实践经验和教训的深刻总结。这一课文整体教学理论的提出符合格式塔心理学理论。格式塔心理学者认为：学习的基础是知觉。人们感知的一切都是完整的形式或形状。部分相加不等于整体，整体比部分的总和大。整体优先于部分并决定部分的性质和意义。课文内容是一个整体。课文整体教学强调信息的整体灌输（教师）及整体接受（学生）。诞生在20世纪40年代后期的信息论、控制论和系统论的观点认为：“在研究客体时要注意系统的整体性，注意系统内各要素之间的有机联系，系统具有一定的内部结构和秩序”。根据这一观点，课文教学必须从指导学生进行整体阅读入手，最终达到对课文结构、内涵和外延整体理解的效果。 课文是语音、词汇和语法的综合体现，是学生进行四会训练和语言知识教学的综合材料。运用系统论“联系的观点”，融那些相互联系、相互作用的语音、词汇、语法和句型知识于课文整体教学之中，使学生见林亦见树，为理解、消化、巩固和运用课文材料服务，以提高学生听、说、读、写的水平，特别是培养他们的阅读能力以及综合运用语言知识的能力。 江苏金坛县直溪中学周锦芳老师实验并总结的课文整体教学的基本过程大体上可分为以下几个阶段： 整体理解输入→整体分段讲→整体归纳运用。 1.整体理解输入 在新课讲解之前，要求学生做好课前预习。预习总的要求是：基本理解整篇文章的内容，大致弄清课文的篇章结构，部分扫除理解语言材料的障碍。现以高级中学课本第一册（必修） Lesson Twelve“POLLUTION”一课为例作一详细讲解。在组织学生预习，独立阅读课文时，可采用以下形式： （I）设计问题（主要针对大体情节，主要线索） ①What is Pollution？ ②How many types of pollution are discussed In our text？And What are they？ ③What Is recycling？ What can be recycled？ ④ Does pollution do harm to not only nature but alsohuman beings？ ⑤What haVe people In many countries done to stoppollution？ ⑥Is man fighting a battle against pollution？ Can he winthe battle In the end？ （Ⅱ）设计判断题（Yes or No）： ①Pollution does harm to people’s health. ②The polluted air is a kind Of pollution. ③Noise is not a kind of pollution. ④Waste water can’t be recycled. ⑤Man hasn’t realized how serious the pollution is. （Ⅲ）归纳中思想 This passage tells how， with the earth’s Increasingpopulation，agricultural and industrial development has led towidespread pollution. It also tells us the different types ofpollution， their ill effects， problems and solutions Incombatting pollutions. （Ⅳ）划分段落，找出段落大意 Paragraphs Part Ⅰ（1St—2nd paras.）： This part introduces us to thecauses of pollution.
