Abstract: T echnical sp ecfi icationf or f iber r einf orced concr ete str uctures( CECS38: 2004) has been publicized and re-
placed the ld specificati n (CECS38: 92) . In t he new specificati ns, c ntent f design and c nstructi n n synthetic
fiber reinf rced c ncrete is added, the r und straight steel fiber f l w strength and t he melt extracted steel fiber w it h
l w er c ntaining f carb n are eliminated, high strength fiber cut fr m steel w ire, specially shaped fiber milled fr m
steel ing t r sheared fr m steel sheet and melt extracted steel fiber w ith l w all y are rec mmended. The strengt h
grade f fiber reinf rced c ncrete is extended fr m 40MPa t 80MPa. T take int acc unt t he effects f steel fibers
n different strength c ncrete, different effect ing fact rs are given t estimate perf rmances f the c ncrete w ith dif-
ferent strengt h grade and each c mputati n f elements made f the fiber reinf rced c ncrete. The t ughness f fiber
reinf rced c ncrete is induced int the design f tunnel liner and industrial fl r. The design and c nstructi n meth ds
f r f slab, pile cap, c rbel, deep beam, pavement f d ck and bridge, bridge structures, structures f hydraulic en-
gineering, layered c mp sit e pavement, and s n, are added.
