Research on Mechanics Behavior of Stub-column of Concrete-filled Thin-walled Steel Tube Under Axial Load

Abstract:T wenty six stud-columns of concrete-filled thin-walled steel tube( CFT T ) with circular, square or octagon
cross-sections are tested under axial compression loads.T he influences of cross-section, width( diameter)-to-thickness
ratio,strength grade of concrete,ratio of steel on the static mechanics behavior of CFT T are investigated.T he results
show that the local buckling and post buckling behaviors of the steel tube are increased by the support of concrete, and
the failure mode of CFT T is obviously different from that of the CF T. Based on the regression analysis, the practical
formulas of the ultimate compressive strength of CFT T are derived. The influences of the parameters on the static
mechanics behaviors of CFT T are also discussed.
