Porosity may be measured directly on core samples in the laboratory, and also may be estimated in-situ by well log analysis. Void Grain Bulk * 有效孔隙率之定義 * Measurement of porosity From plug samples, the techniques of routine core analysis provide for measurement of bulk volume and either void volume or grain volume. The void volume is represented as the interconnected pore space that can be occupied by a fluid such as gas, water, oil or, for laboratory purposes, mercury. Bulk Volume :In routine core analysis, the bulk volume is usually determined either by caliper measurements or by displacement of mercury in a pycnometer . * Grain Volume Boyles law (sometimes known as the Boyle Mariotte law) is one of the gas law. Boyles Law states that the product of the volume and pressure of a fixed quantity of an ideal gas is constant, given constant temperature. V0 = reference air volume; equal to initial reading on volume scale and dial (40 c.c.). p30 = reference pressure, absolute, equal to test gauge reading (= 30 psig) plus atmosphere pressure (14.7 psia).
