With the rapid development of rural economy in China, farmer professional cooperative is playing an increasingly important role in rural economy. However, due to the shortcomings of the legal system of farmer professional cooperative, a series of problems have arisen, such as poor management, blind expansion, and chaotic internal management. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the legal system of farmer professional cooperative in China and put forward suggestions to improve it. This paper first introduces the development history of farmer professional cooperative in China and analyzes the legal system problems existing in it. Secondly, based on the development experience of foreign professional cooperatives and national policies and regulations, suggestions for improving the legal system of farmer professional cooperative are put forward, including strengthening legislation, optimizing organizational structure, improving internal management, and strengthening supervision.
