T he prin- ciple and method of gel casting,including reaction mechanism,process parameters, feasibility and the foreground of the process are briefly reviewed. Some new gelcasting techniques are reviewed as well. The developing prospect of gelcast- ing is forecasted and some problems that should be paid attention to and solved in gelcasting process are also discussed.
