Firstly,letusreflectontheflagitself.Thenationalflagismorethanjustapieceofcloth;itisasymbolofourhistory,ourstruggles,andouraspirations.Eachstripeandstarcarrieswithitastoryofourpastandavisionforourfuture.Theredstripesrepresentthebloodthathasbeenshedbyourheroes,thewhitestripessymbolizethepurityofourintentions,andthebluefieldisareminderofthevastnessofourskiesandthestrengthofourresolve.

Aswewitnesstheflagbeinghoistedhigh,letusrememberthecountlessindividualswhohavecontributedtothemakingofournation.Fromtheearlysettlerswhobravedtheunknowntothebravemenandwomenwhofoughtforourfreedom,theirsacrificeshavelaidthefoundationuponwhichwestandtoday.Itistheirlegacythatwehonorwitheveryflutteroftheflag.

Ourflagisatestamenttothedemocraticidealsthatournationwasbuiltupon.Itstandsforequality,justice,andfreedom,principlesthatwemustcontinuetoupholdanddefend.Inaworldthatisoftendividedbyconflictandmisunderstanding,ourflagservesasabeaconofhope,areminderthatitispossibletoliveinharmonyandrespectforoneanother.

Aswegatherheretoday,letusalsotakeamomenttoconsidertheglobalcommunity.Ourflagrepresentsnotjustanation,butaplacewherepeoplefromallcornersoftheglobecanfindrefugeandopportunity.Itisasymbolofourcommitmenttopeace,tofosteringinternationalrelations,andtoworkingtogethertocreateabetterworldforall.
