In China，technology in the important auto parts are still lagging behind，such as engines，transmissions and so on. The paper selects New Bora 1.6L vehicle to start a research and design work in transmissionsrsquo;structure and parameter. This paper explains transmissionsrsquo; history,category,and trend in the future,anlyzes the Bora 1.6L carrsquo;s existing defects in the transmission，and proposes optimization methods.
