The 9.0 magnitude quake struck Friday off Japans eastern coast, and prompted tsunami warnings across the Pacific as far away as South America and the U.S. West Coast. The Red Cross warned that the 10-meter high tidal wave could wash over some small islands entirely.  In Japan, the tsunami swept away boats, cars and hundreds of houses in coastal areas north of Tokyo.  The explosion has hit the nuclear plant in Japan which was damaged in Fridays earthquake. TV footage showed smoke rising from Fukushima plants reactor 3, a day after an explosion hit reactor 1. Japans nuclear safety agency said the blast was believed to have been caused by the build-up of hydrogen. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said the core container at the reactor was still intact. Japan, said Scotland 14, 16, local time at 11th, confirmed the Japanese earthquake and the tsunami has caused 1833 deaths, 2369 people missing.
