A new mi age segmentation method for fatigue fracture based on BE Dwas presented. The mi agewas decomposed by BE D and bmi f texture energywas extracted as the feature. First, the mi agewas decomposed by BE D into a series of intrinsicmode function bmi f and residual functions. Then, Laws texture energymethodwas used to extract the bmi f and residual textureenergy as the feature ele ments. Finally, the featurewas segmented by thenearestneighboring criterion. Comparedw ith theclassicalFouriermethod, this method applies to the segmentation of fatigue fracture mi ages and can obtain satisfactory results.
