3.MATERIAL

MaterialmustmeetthechemicalcompositionlimitsperISO898-1forthegivenpropertyclass.

4.MECHANICALPROPERTIES

Bolts,studs,andboltwasherassembliesshallhavethemechanicalandphysicalpropertiesasspecifiedin

ISO898-1.Boltandwasherassembliesshallbetestedintheassembledwasherformwhereverpossible.

Wheretheconditionsofagiventestsodictate,thewashercomponentmayrequireremoval.

5.MINIMUMULTIMATETENSILELOADSANDPROOFLOADS

Coarsepitchbolts,studs,andboltwasherassemblieswithpropertyclasses4.8,8.8and10.9,mustmeetthe

ultimatetensileandproofloadsinTable1.Finepitch,otherpropertyclasses,andnominaldiametersnotlisted

mustfollowISO898-1.Propertyclass10.9(10.9underlined)fastenersareunacceptable.Propertyclass10.9

fastenersspecifyaminimumtemperingtemperatureof340ºCanda0.15-0.35%carboncontent.

6.SURFACEINTEGRITY

Forrefereepurposes,surfaceintegrityshallbeinaccordancewithWA990.
