Abstract:ThePearlRiverbasinhaschangeableclimateandfrequentstorm,andflooddisasteristhemost

frequentandharmfulnaturaldisasterinthebasin,especiallyinitsmiddleandlowerreachesanddeltaareas.

Onthebasisofsummarizingandreviewingtheachievementsoftheconstructionofthebasinfloodcontroland

disasterreductionsystemsincetheimplementationofpreviousroundofbasinfloodcontrolplan,thisarticle

comparesthehigh-qualitydevelopmentneedsofthebasineconomyandsocietyinthenewstagewiththeflood

controlandsecurityneedsofthepeople,anddeeplyanalyzesthesituationofbasinfloodcontrol.Response

strategiesincludingdesignfloodreviewandadoptionunderthebackgroundofflooddiversion,optimizationof

settingandoperationmanagementoffloodstorageanddetentionareas,constructionofSixianjiaocontroland

guidanceengineering,andimprovementoffloodcontrolcapacityofLongtanReservoirareproposedtoprovide

supportforcomprehensivelyimprovingthefloodmitigationanddisasterreductioncapacityofthebasin.
