ENGINEIDLESHUTDOWN(IFEQUIPPED)

YourvehiclemaybeequippedwithanEngineIdleShutdownsystem.

Thissystemwillautomaticallyshutdownyourenginewhenithasbeen

idlinginP(Park)orN(Neutral)forfiveminutes(parkingbrakeset)or

15minutes(parkingbrakenotset).Duringtheengineidleshutdown

process:

•TheServiceEngineSoonlightwillflash,oncepersecond,forthe

final30secondsjustpriortoshutdown.

•Withinthefinal30seconds,thetimercanberesetby:

1.changingthepositionoftheacceleratorpedal,or

2.changingthebrakepedal,clutchpedal,orparkbrakefromengaged

todisengagedorfromdisengagedtoengaged.

•Whenthetimerreacheszero,theenginewillshutdown.

•Inthisevent,thekeyremainsintheON(Run)position,andpower

continuestobesuppliedtotheaccessories.

BatterypowermaybedrainedifthekeyisleftintheON(Run)

positionwithouttheenginerunning.

Note:Theengineidleshutdowntimerwillnotstartif:

•Theengineisoperatinginpowertake-off(PTO)mode.

•Theenginecoolanttemperatureisbelow60°F(16°C).

•Theexhaustemissioncontrolsystemisregeneratingthediesel

particulatefilter(DPF).
